Future Leaders


To identify and develop our high-performing Assistant and Deputy population
To grow our internal teams to create talent pipelines and succession for General Manager Roles
To retain our top talent through engagement and offering development opportunities

Future Leaders is a three-month development programme available to all high performing Assistant and Deputy Managers.

Individuals are nominated by their Operations Manager and are required to attend a Future Leader Assessment Day as part of the selection process.

Successful individuals will then kick-start their Future Leader journey with the Welcome Day.

Throughout the three-month programme they will be tasked with creating a business plan for a Bella Italia restaurant as well as completing several operationally-led business briefs. They will also be invited to attend two Future Leader Masterclasses:

• Marketing and Finance
• People and Leadership

Those who successfully complete the programme will be invited to attend a special celebratory graduation evening hosted by the Bella Italia Brand Board.

Success story - Amy Wilson

Amy Wilson was an Assistant Manager with Bella for 18 months before she got nominated to be part of the Future Leader Programme. She started the programme in 2016 and graduated in October of that year. After continuing her development once the programme ended, Amy was considered for a General Manager role in January 2017. She was made General Manager of Bella Italia Burton in March 2017 and has been doing an awesome job ever since.

Success story - Kamil Debicki

Kamil Debicki has grown up with Bella Italia and started his career as a Kitchen Porter before moving Front of House. He continued to develop to Supervisor and Assistant Manager before becoming a Deputy Manager at Bella Italia Taplow. He was nominated and started the Future Leader Programme in January 2017.

He impressed everyone whilst on the Future Leader Programme and was offered a General Manager position in Taplow in March 2017. As a result of his hard work he won Assistant Manager of the year at the Conference in June 2017. I think it is fair to say Kamil Debicki has a shining future ahead of him at Bella Italia.
